Current Programs
The New York Farm to School Institute is an annual year-long professional development opportunity for food service staff, educators, administrators, and community partners in New York schools to develop and refine their Farm to School programs, and to help bring more New York grown food into the cafeteria and classroom.
The Farmer Readiness Scan is a tool for NY farmers, growers, and producers to assess their existing operations, identify challenges and barriers to institutional procurement, and receive individualized feedback regarding available resources and next steps toward successfully selling wholesale to institutions in NY state.
Past Programs
The Farm to Institution Market Readiness Training program ran from 2015 to 2019 and trained Extension educators and agri-service providers to help farmers assess the opportunities for sales to institutions, and identify the changes required in their production and management systems.
